Search Plan

What is a Search Plan?

At Citylitics, we're dedicated to helping you easily find the most relevant early-stage infrastructure intelligence. Your team’s Search Plan is a highly customized filter for all the data available on the Citylitics platform. It's a living document that captures your team's unique interests and criteria, ensuring the insights you see are always precise and valuable.

Three Categories of Insights

Your Search Plan also categorizes your insights, organizing them into distinct areas to help you quickly identify what matters most when you access the Citylitics platform:

  • Priority Insights: This area highlights projects that are directly relevant to the services and solutions your team provides.

  • Super Priority (optional): These are your absolute "bullseye" opportunities. While these highly valuable insights are found within the                          Priority Insights section, they can be easily filtered to pinpoint them quickly. Super Priority insights represent the most ideal and actionable projects for your team, identified by multiple specific criteria that make them incredibly impactful.
  • All Insights (Feeds): This area encompasses all the data from the markets and
regions you're subscribed to, offering a comprehensive overview of relevant activities.

What Can I Define in My Search Plan?

For new customers, we begin broadly to ensure we capture all relevant projects. We'll then customize the Search Plan as your team refines its ideal Citylitics workflow. Our Data Team handles the heavy lifting, maintaining and curating your Search Plan for you.

Indicators and Indicator Tags

Indicators are the foundation of your Search Plan, acting as broad umbrella labels that categorize project types. They can be associated with specific tags that provide extra descriptive notes, pinpointing elements like technologies or materials. (See our dedicated article for examples).

Geography

You can configure your target countries (Canada or the United States), states and provinces, counties, or specific owners, ensuring you only see insights from your key regions. Geography is also used to configure auto-assignment for your team.

Population

You can select to filter insights from municipalities with populations below or above a specified threshold.

Budget/Opportunity Value

You can define projects by your ideal budget range.

Initiative Type and Timing Stage

You can specify the most relevant project initiative types for your team (e.g., New Build, Replacement, Rehabilitation). Timing stages can also be configured based on your ideal project work phase (e.g., Issue, Planning, Design, Construction), which is identified based on source document information from an insight.
